Thanks - wasn’t a bad day, they were Grade 6 and a lot of kids on IPPs, etc, so a tough group.

In that school system, is grade 6 the oldest in the building, youngest in the building, or somewhere in the middle? I teach grades 6, 7, and 8, so the 6th graders are the youngest in the building. They’re like little puppy dogs, they’re my favorite. I’m told 6th graders are very different in school systems where 6th grade is the oldest in the building.

It varies here - some schools (like the one I was subbing in today) have them as the oldest grade, some of them as the youngest. The Jr. High in Lunenburg has them in the middle as it is a P-9 school. :)

I am trained for Jr High/High, but prefer earlier Jr. High - nowadays, anything higher and the students are so apathetic! :(

Yeah, it varies like that here as well. There’s no real standard. I’ve taught college, high school, and middle school. The middle schoolers are much more enthusiastic and interested.
